Y'shua, Jesus, Kinsman Redeemer!

Did you know that during Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks, Pentecost, that a required reading is the book of Ruth? If you step back and look at a general synopsis of the book of Ruth, you will find that it is a story of a gentile bride pursuing a Jewish husband. Before the marriage between the two can occur, the Jew must play the role of the Kinsman Redeemer and redeem the bride in place of the brother, who should have redeemed her in the first place. The reason, that the brother couldn't redeem her, was he wasn't righteous. Amazingly, this is the exact redemption story behind Y'shua's, Jesus, first visit to earth. I think it is amazing, that the Tanahk, the Old Testament,  consistently models the redemption story, from beginning to end, that Jesus fulfilled in his first visit. Then, turn around and have the beginning, of this reconciliation, occur on the same day that God has been preparing the Jewish people, with a story that pointed to it, for years in advance. I'm sorry, that is way beyond coincidence and you can only find this in the Bible.

  1. That is wonderful Keith, I must read the book of Ruth with what you have said in mind. I love the way that God reveals the hidden things through enabling us to discern the scriptures spiritually.
