Did you know that the name of God, YHWH, appears 6823 times, in the Bible, far more than any other name? However, it is by the name of Y'shua, that every knee shall bow, at the judgment throne of God. Why? How does proclaiming the name of Y'shua give glory to God? Because when you proclaim the name of Y'shua, you are saying, "YHWH Saves" or "YHWH is my Salvation", which is what the name of Y'shua literally means.

The Hebrew language is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat is not Biblical and not true.
ReplyDeletePaul, A simple question. Did Y'shua, Jesus speak English?
ReplyDeleteIf you would believe in the Lord Jesus Christ then you would know that He speaks every language under the sun, including English.
ReplyDeleteWasn't it the Lord Jesus who created every language, including the heavens and the earth and everything in it ?
Then why Paul, did God say 'Let US make man in OUR IMAGE on the sixth day?
ReplyDeleteIt is God (Spirit) referring to His Word (Which became flesh). Y'shua (Jesus in English) was the first born of all creation, the first of many brethren, the One Who said:-
'My mother and brothers are those who hear God's Word and put it into practice.'
I love the way the scriptures make perfect sense to the spiritual mind.(the mind of Christ which those who are born again of God's Spirit have)
Father, I thank You for Y'shua.
Paul,
just as we are able to translate what we want to say to those who do not understand our language by speaking their language, so did God cause the whole of fleshly mankind to understand what He was saying to us by speaking His Word through a fleshly body which had been born of His Spirit. Our sin is in the flesh, the sacrifice had to be a body of flesh, but that sacrifice has allowed us to be reconciled back to God and have access to eternal life.
Look Brenda, I don't know what to say to your comment.
ReplyDeleteBecause you don't believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, therefore everything else concerning the Scriptures becomes distorted and not true.
I can use any of your statements, they all are mostly not true.
You are making a statement which is not true and then you are building a doctrine upon that untrue statement.
Example;
You said, 'but that sacrifice has allowed us to be reconciled back to God and have access to eternal life.'
What on earth makes you think that a sacrifice has ALLOWED you to be reconciled back to God and have ACCESS to eternal life ?
Brenda, you need to do a lot of work on your doctrines, they are just not true.
Your other statements, assumptions and doctrines are also not true.
There is nothing more I can say to you Paul, as you do not go by what is written in the Bible.
ReplyDeleteAll right, then the next simple question for you Paul, is, which version do you side with when there is a conflict between the two versions? It is a quite simple resolution to this problem. The answer is that you go with the original scripture or translation.
ReplyDeleteKeith, I believe that there is only one version and that is the Lord's version.
ReplyDeleteBut there are many translations, the New International, the New American Standard, the KJV, the Amplified and many more. They only differ slightly in a word or so, but the meaning is still there and every translation is suitable for reproof and for correction in doctrine and in conduct.
We both know that the Scriptures are spiritually discerned or appraised or understood, and a man without the Spirit of God cannot understand the Scriptures. Yes, they can argue about the Scriptures, but that doesn't profit them much.
But we are different, we are supposed to be those of the circumcision of the heart, in other words, we are the ones whom the Lord has granted repentance so that we can adjust to leading of the Spirit through His written Word.
It is important to know that there is no such thing as the original Scriptures or translation.
All Scriptures come from translated manuscripts of different languages.
But to us the Word of God is in English.
Paul, By your own words, there is no original translation or scripture, all are the same. I do agree that there is no original transcript. However, the Jewish Scribes have a great history of maintaining perfection in the transcribing of the Tanahk or Scriptures. The problem with your premise is when there is a discrepancy between the translations. There are many discrepancies within the English translation when compared to the original translation or transcription from which they came. There has to be a standard from which to refer and it is logical and common sense to go back to the original or earliest version, which is the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, depending on which part of the Bible, we are discussing It is from those earliest transcripts that we receive God's true message.
DeleteAmen Keith. I know the Lord has brought you in to share what you know of the original languages, but even with the English translations the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth, the Lord Himself said that, and all who are led by the Spirit are convinced and convicted. It is wonderful! (John ch. 16 v. 13)
ReplyDeleteThanks Brenda. I know that it is only by God's Spirit, that we are given this insight.
DeleteKeith, I don't have a big problem with what you are saying.
ReplyDeleteExcept, once we have established that there is NOT such a thing as an ORIGINAL manuscript, then I do not use that terminology again, that is because, it then causes a confusion.
An 'ORIGINAL' would be the ultimate authority over every other copy. But if there is NO original, then the Scripture becomes discerned or understood by the Spirit, and it needs a man of God to RIGHTLY divide the word of truth.
As for me, I have learned through many years of walking closely with my Lord to use every translation of the Scriptures to preach and present the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. That is in two languages, German and English and of course in my mother tongue which is Swiss-German.
I do not speak Greek or Hebrew or Aramaic, therefore there is no point for me to debate or present the gospel in a language I do not speak and neither is it good and profitable for you if you do not master that language.
Do you speak Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic ?
I think that the standard then becomes the Bible written in the language we both are speaking, which is English.
If it would not be so, then the translators of the Bible would not have been trustworthy and every one would debate them on their ignorance of that particular language.
Paul, That's all fine. Let's look at the ETB. It's in English.
Delete"In beginning, Elohim created the heavens and earth. Elohim's Spirit hovered upon the water surface."
Bereshit 1:1-2 (Genesis 1:1-2)
or
Genesis 2:4 where it says,
"These are the histories of the heavens and earth when Yahweh Elohim created the heavens and earth."
It conflicts with your English version. It is a transliterated version, word for word. It is more pure, because your version adds additional words, to support whatever is the translators doctrine.
