Elohim, The Great And Powerful God!

Did you know that there is a translational error, in the first verse, of the Bible? The first name of God, Elohim, translated as "God", should be translated as "gods". Of course, I'm not advocating that there is more than one God. The name, Elohim, shows the greatness and multidimensionality of God, rather than the plurality of God. This is revealed when the plural noun, Elohim, is followed by a singular verb. The reader of the whole Bible, already knows that the Word of God and the Spirit of God was at work in the creation process. As we learn more and more about God's Word, it reveals that we have a lot more to learn about our Lord and God.

  1. No my friend that is not true.

In the beginning God, singular (He).

Yes it was Jesus Christ in the beginning who created ALL things.

  2. That is wonderful to know Keith, it reminds me of the omnipresence of God. I am always amazed at what is contained within the Hebrew language. I totally agree that we have a lot more to learn about our Lord and God. How wonderful that knowledge will increase in the end times.

  3. Paul,
Please read the entire post, prior to commenting. If you read it, you would see that we agree that it was by the Word of God, that God created all things. This is supported by the first half of John 1, as the second witness.

  4. Hi Brenda,
I agree. There's an unending depth to getting to know our Lord and Savior.

  5. Keith, 'gods' are more than one, but it said “God” one. It doesn't say 'Elohim', there is no error in the translation.
Multidimensional is just another word for plurality.
Neither was there the Word of God and the Spirit of God at work in creation, that would be TWO.
But God is ONE Jesus Christ and He created everything alone (Isa. 44:24).

  6. 'God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM'; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is My name FOREVER, and this is My memorial-name TO ALL GENERATIONS.' Exodus ch. 3 vs. 14, 15.

  7. Brenda, you need to make sense out of those statements.
Who is the I am ?
    Who is the Lord ?
Who is the God of Abraham ...... ?
And what is His Name forever ?

  8. How can you question what is written in those scriptures Paul. I simply believe what God has said there. When you say 'make sense' do you mean 'sense according to the carnal mind'? As Jesus said 'It is written'.

  9. Hi Paul,
I am not going to start an argument with you, concerning what is and what is not in the Scriptures, until you take your denominational blinders off and recognized that the English translation's have added words and replaced original words with others. I will say, in rebuttal to your multidimensionality versus plurality statement, that you are mind, body, spirit and soul and that does not make you a plurality. It describes your multidimensionality of your being.

  10. Hi Brenda,
You and I are in agreement with the Scriptures. Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, is the name of El Shaddai, forever. I will love and serve our God and Savior forever and forever thank him, for our salvation, through the blood sacrifice, of his son, Y'shua ha Mashiach!

  11. Keith,
Re:- 'I will say, in rebuttal to your multidimensionality versus plurality statement, that you are mind, body, spirit and soul and that does not make you a plurality. It describes your multidimensionality of your being.'

What a lovely way of putting multidimensionality as opposed to plurality.

  12. Brenda, you don't believe that Jesus is the 'I am'.
You don't believe that Jesus is the 'Lord'.
You don't believe that Jesus is the God of Abraham.

  13. Keith, how convenient my friend :-)

  14. Paul,
I will not start an argument because there are truths that are self evident. You have already admitted that your English Bible is a translation from an older text. All I ask is that you look at that text and evaluate for yourself, rather than believe blindly in your denominational deceptions. The fact that you will not even look at the text, from which your English translation has been taken, shows that you have an allegiance to that translation rather than to the actual word of God.

  15. Paul,
you don't believe that Jesus was appointed by God as it says in Acts ch. 10 v. 42:-

'He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the One whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.'

and that this is what we are to preach, that Jesus was the One appointed by God to judge the living and the dead.

Jesus is the One Whom God made our Lord, Whom all authority has been GIVEN by God, as He stated in Matthew ch. 28 vs. 18, 19 and 20:-

And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'
