Messiah Watch: Syria Vows To Reclaim Golan Heights

As most news watchers saw last Thursday, the United States became the first nation to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. If you remember, the Golan Heights was seized by Israel from Syria during the Six-Day War of 1967. Well, Friday, the Syrian government vowed to take back the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, as its allies and enemies multilaterally condemned President Trump sovereignty decree.

Most of the time, this is just saber rattling, for show, in the news. However, with the Syrian Civil War winding down and the fact that Syrian President Bashar Assad was rushing to meet with Russian President Putin today gets my attention. Afterwards, President Assad appeared on a Russian news show, vowing to take back the Golan Heights. This is usually done to garner public support.

Not very often do we see many actual events that make my ears perk up, but this news show comment and vow by Syrian President Bashar Assad and their allies, could embolden them to stir up a conflict. Keep in mind, presently Syria, Iran and Russia are the big boys in this area and three major players, in the biblical end times scenario. Could this be the first salvo across the bow of Israel, in events leading up to the conflict, known as the Battle of Armageddon and the Return of the Messiah? Keep your eyes on the sky.

  1. I hope not.

I like Putin. Assad protected the Christians in Syria.

  2. Sandi, I hope not, too. However, I'm kind of 50/50, on this one, knowing that it brings a better future with the Messiah. The only time that I talk about end time scenarios is when there's a movement, in the area of the Valley of Armageddon and it involves the key players, laid out in the Bible. Part of me says it's horrifying. Part of me says it's exciting to possibly be part of the final generation. You and I know that God is in control, I pray for others that don't. Times and occurences like this reminds us that we are racing towards a time, that the Bible says more about than any other time period.

  3. I’ve heard it said that Israel is God’s timepiece, and it does look like the time of the Lord’s return is drawing near. I’m looking into the early church these days, the sufferings they went through. It seems we also will reach a level of persecution that will test people’s faith and true allegiance. Praying that the Holy Spirit strengthens us to meet whatever challenges lay ahead.

  4. Amen, Susan! Amen! There are many Christians and Christian Scholars, who believe and teach that the Messiah will return prior to a great time of persecution and tribulation. Let me say that I hope so. However, I have search the scriptures and the only thing that I have found is that the Remnant will not taste the Wrath of God. However, there's absolutely nothing that tells us we won't get a taste of great trials and tribulations. I am praying with you that the Holy Spirit strengthens us to meet whatever challenges lay ahead. Amen!

  6. You are describing the prewrath rapture position which I agree with. I think we'll see a whole bunch of tribulation which will result in a great falling away. Also remember that I think there will be a 1/3rd of the worlds population blown away at this time. The only way that can happen is nuclear war or some type of disease or biological weapon. I can see this happening if Russia China or the US gets into a big war which either side sees as losing. A definite no win situation for all involved.

  8. All that is prophesied will come to pass. I have to say that I feel no worry or concern over what the future holds, for it is God Who is in charge. He has sent the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth, and that is what is important in my life as I grow as a child of God through the Word spoken to me from the scriptures. We all have to do what we are called to do in the body of Christ. I am not sure what a 'Christian scholar' is, as being taught in a Bible college is not scriptural.

  9. Hey Tanza, I agree that war is bad for everyone. Unfortunately, it is in the Biblical End Time Scenario. I'm just looking out for the signs. You are welcome and I'll try to do my part in keeping everyone updated. Yes, Pray for peace in the World and in Jerusalem.

  10. Chris, yes, that is the Pre-Wrath Position. I, too, lean towards that side, even though I wouldn't mind if we were wrong. With that said, the scriptures have the final say. I also agree that if the Big Boys get involved in an armed conflict, it will not be a pretty picture.

  11. Hey Brenda, I agree that "All that is prophesied will come to pass." I have no worries about how it's going to end. It's God's plan and all is going well, as expected. With that said, we are told to keep our eyes to the sky and expect him at every moment. It shouldn't be a surprise to any of the Remnant.

I also agree that growing Echad with God is our priority.

I referenced the "Christian Scholars" because that's the name they go by, not what they are and, unfortunately, they are as prominent in the Christian Church, as the Sages and Rabbi's are in Rabbinical Judaism. Most of both are on the wrong side of the Torah, Tanakh and B'rit Hadashah. Don't get me started about that. :-) LOL It was the same, when Y'shua walked upon this earth and will be until the end.

    1. Christians throughout history have been on the wrong side of everyone else...that’s okay as long as we are on Jesus’ right side...and I’m post trib if you count the end of tribulation occurring at the Seventh trumpet and just prior to the bowl judgements...I think we’re on the same page 😊
