Did you know that there will be Christians, that will claim Y'shua, Jesus, as their Lord, but will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven?
That's what Y'shua, Jesus, said, in Matthew 7:21-23.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what my Father in heaven wants. On that Day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord! Didn’t we prophesy in your name? Didn’t we expel demons in your name? Didn’t we perform many miracles in your name?’ Then I will tell them to their faces, ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’"
There are many that teach that all one has to do, to be saved, is believe, in the Lord Jesus Christ. That's it. Say the words. No more. That's what Y'shua, Jesus, said, in John 3:16. Others say that you have to work out your salvation. Philippians 2:12. So, Why is Y'shua, Jesus, saying, ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’?
Notice, that, in the verses above, the believer believes and calls, upon the name of Y'shua, and obviously was acting or working out his salvation. So, what's missing that would exclude him from the Kingdom of Heaven? Well, the fact that the believer started to list his accomplishments tells us that he put more reliance, on his deeds, rather that relying on and getting to know, Y'shua.
Also, the last verse says it all. Y'shua calls him a worker of lawlessness, which nails down his condemnation. The believer was nailing his list of accomplishments on the wall, for all to see, instead of nailing his failure to obey the law, to the cross. God wants us to totally rely on and trust in the blood of Y'shua, as a sin covering. Out of that trust, the works will flow automatically, as you work out your salvation, as an act of love, not as compliance to the law.
