Jews Originally Believed The Messiah Was The Son of God

Did you know that Jews originally believed that the Messiah would be the Son of God? Shelomoh (Solomon), actually referred to him, in the Proverbial Prophesy, Proverbs 30:4.

Who has gone up to heaven and come down?
Who has cupped the wind in the palms of his hands?
Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak?
Who established all the ends of the earth?
What is his name, and what is his son’s name?
Surely you know!

Obviously,  Shelomoh (Solomon) was writing about God. However, he slips in that God has a son, towards the end. You see, originally, the Jews believed that there would be a Gentle Messiah and Kingly Messiah and that Messiah would be the Son of God. However, in the same way, that the modern day church has given themselves over to the ways of the Nicolaitans, so did the Jewish Heirarchy depart from God’s Word.  Their desire for a deliverer began to push out the gentle Messiah until the Jewish Heirarchy taught strictly about the Conquering King Messiah and they missed the Son of God.

Today’s church has done the same thing. They have pushed out the Biblical Messiah for a Messiah of their own liking. Satan has always had great success with perverting God’s way, by emphasizing that Man knows better than God. Don’t miss out on the real Messiah, the Son of God. Get back into the Word of God and find out the Truth.

…and that’s what you’ll find, When You Search For The Truth.

  1. Hi Keith, the Jews and all pagans and every demon believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
It means absolutely nothing, sins Adam is also called the son of God (Luke 3:38) and all of us who are born again are also sons of God (Gal.4:6).

NOBODY has a problem to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, but what they do NOT believe is, that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Lord GOD Almighty 'CALLED' the Son of God (Luke 1:35) and Isa. 9:6).

  2. Hi Keith,
I love the way that in Luke ch. 3 the genealogy of the fleshly part of Jesus (even though He was not born of man) goes back to Seth, which means 'appointed'.
This reminds me of the spiritual line of the second Adam - Jesus, the Son of God. It is not coincidence that at the end of Genesis ch. 4, Seth had a son called Enosh, which means 'man or human being', and then the last verse says that at that time people began to call on, or 'proclaim' the name of the Lord.

I believe that spiritually our walk with the Lord and our working out our salvation begins at Genesis ch. 5 where there is no mention of the fall and the 'mankind' here is both male and female.
It is as if the end of ch. 4 and the beginning of chapter 5 are speaking to us who are born again, who are a new creation - the old 'man' is now dead, and we are taught through all the following scriptures being spiritually discerned as we are led into all truth by the teaching of the Holy Spirit.

  3. Paul and Brenda. Sorry for taking so long to get back with you. I had emergency gallbladder surgery.

  4. Paul, The problem is that what you state isn't in the scriptures. Before you can claim that people would have a problem in believing something, it has to be true. Luke 1:35 and Isaiah 9:6 doesn't support your position that Y'shua and the Father is the same being.

Luke 1:35 says, "The angel answered her,"The Ruach HaKodesh will come over you, the power of Ha`Elyon will cover you. Therefore the holy child born to you will be called the Son of God."

If anything, Luke 1:35 says just the opposite.

I have told you what Isaiah says. I'm not going to rehash it.

  5. Hi Brenda, I totally agree. For all who will open their eyes, the Gospel is proclaim in Genesis 5. There are many places, within the scriptures, that support Y'shua as the Messiah. Many Jews know this, but as in the time of Y'shua earthly ministry, they side with the leadership, rather than with HaShem and his Word.

  6. Keith, Isaiah and all the Prophets were talking about the Lord Jesus Christ and not about another god.

  7. Keith,
it is the same with many denominational Christians today. Some will side with the leadership even when they proclaim false doctrine rather than God (HaShem) and His Word.

  8. Paul, There is only one God, no gods. Anything other than Yah, is an idol of your own making. Once again, you have elevated the Son above the Father. Y'shua is heir to the Kingdom, he will be and is worshipped as one with Elohim, as Psalm 45:6 and others say. I hope one day, you will open yourself to the complete scriptures and understand our Lord, as who he is.

    1. Hebrews ch. 1 vs.8,9 also verify what God said in Psalm 45:-
'But unto the Son he saith,
Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
      Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity;
therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee
with the oil of gladness above thy fellows'

God always confirms His Word many times throughout the scriptures.

  9. Brenda. It makes me shudder when you say that. Unfortunately, it is so true. It's another example of not reading the scriptures, as a whole, but following the leadership, who want the Remnant to follow them, rather than God.
