Abraham Saw My Day And Rejoiced In It

Did you know that God spoke in the Old Testament, with models or parables, in the same way that Y'shua, Jesus, did in the New Testament? Everyone knows the story of Abraham and his attempt at the sacrifice of Isaac. If you step back and look at a general synopsis of the story, in the same way you do with parables, you find that God required a man to sacrifice another man, of his own lineage, for the remission of sins. Because the sacrificed of Isaac would be unacceptable, God substituted a ram, a scapegoat, in his place. This is the exact same thing that occurred at the cross. Amazingly, this is what Y'shua, Jesus meant, when he said, "Abraham saw my day and rejoiced in it."

  1. Hi Keith, Abraham knew exactly that he would not need to sacrifice his son.
Isaac asked his father, 'where is the sacrifice?' and Abraham replied, 'God will provide'.

That happened exactly the same on the cross of Calvary. God did NOT sacrifice His Son, just like Abraham did NOT sacrifice his only son Isaac.
On the cross God sacrificed Himself for the sins of the world and not someone else.

What do you think, can another man atone for the sins of the world ? I think NOT!
Every man is a sinner except God, and it is the Lord God who came in the form of a man to die on the cross for our sins.

God did NOT substitute a scapegoat, He did a lot better than that, He gave His own life.

    1. Regardless, if Abraham knew or not, it doesn't take away from the parable. This is what the Spirit has been trying to teach you. First, the literal truth, Abraham obeyed and would have followed through. Second, the parable, it shows his Son, taking the place of the one, who should be sacrificed, you and me.

As for not sacrificing his son, you are way off base and not Biblical.

As for God dying on the cross, God cannot die. Pure and simple. The Messiah was his way around that restriction. A Messiah, who was a Man and God.

  2. Paul,
where is it written that God gave His own life? It is written 'For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.' John ch. 3 v. 16.

I know that Jesus was the Word made flesh 'The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.' and that the Word was with God and was God.
Jesus became the mediator between man and God, and a mediator is a 'go between'.

God is Spirit, and Jesus said that His words were Spirit and Life. So in order to have that Spirit living within us we have to have words telling us how we can achieve it.

It does not matter how much we discuss these scriptures because reading from the Bible with the carnal mind makes very little sense. Receiving the Word of God with the Spiritual mind changes that historical, written word into a timeless vocabulary, the Word of God spoken to us as individual children of God according to what we need as we grow in Him.
First we receive the milk of the Word, regarding repentance and baptisms etc., and then the strong meat, and the most important thing is that we act on the Word spoken to us as we are taught by God.

    1. No Better way to convey the truth, than to use God's Word to present it. Nicely done, Brenda!

  3. By the way Keith,
your post is beautifully put, it is when we are born of the Spirit that we can see this and the scriptures become the voice of God to us. Praise God and His Son Jesus for enabling us to hear the voice of God.

  4. Brenda, you have absolutely no understanding of the Word of God.
All you can do is quoting metaphors.
Don't you think that we can also read Scripture metaphors.
It is one thing to quote them and another thing to understand them.
    Perhaps learn to understand them.

    1. Paul, God's Word is Truth. You continue to ignore the literal truth of God's Word, in order to support your distorted views. Once you use Y'shua's, Jesus', example, all scripture becomes perfectly clear. You call yourself a Christian, but you fail to follow the example of Christ. Let me remind you that Chrisian means "Christ Like". It appears that either you have forgotten and totally ignoring it for the sake of Paul's doctrine.

  5. Paul,
if you do not put the puritan belief as your foundation, and ask the Lord for the truth, then you shall find it.
