What Do You Mean, Not All My Sins Are Covered?

Did you know that not all of your sins are covered by the blood of Y’shua/Jesus?
Well, let me start off with the fact that God does forgive all sins, that we confess to him and turn away from, even those sins committed, when we stumble, throughout our lives. 1 John 1:9 is referred to the Christians bar of soap. It says:

“If we confess our sins, he forgives them and cleanses us from everything we’ve done wrong.”

As a side note, a word for word translation, of 1 John 1:9 says:

“If we admit our guilt in violating God’s Law and are faithful and observant of God’s commands, that (Blood) forgives us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.”

However, there is a particular group of sins that, if we continually and willfully indulge, will preclude us from the Kingdom. In 1 Cor 6:9 it lists these sins.

”Don’t you know that one who continues to violate God’s Law will not inherit the right or authority to rule in the Kingdom of God. Deceive not or be deceived, neither will those who indulge in unlawful sexual intercourse or hires themselves out for another's lust, nor worshippers of false gods, idolaters, even Christians, who participate, in any way, in the worship in the ways of the heathen, especially those who attends their sacrificial feasts and eats of the remains of offered victims, nor those who are faithless toward God or their mates, nor those who commit unlawful lewdness or sexual intercourse with the same sex.”
Revelation 21:8 adds those who are faithless and deceitful, to that group.

Bottom Line: If we confess our sins and rely on the blood of the Messiah for a covering for our sins, then our sins are forgiven, no matter how many times we stumble and fall. We must show our commitment (Agape) to God, by being Faithful and Observant of God’s commands, but if we falter, we are forgiven, if we confess. However, those who continually and willfully indulge in sexual lewdness, idolatry, adultery, homosexuality, faithlessness and deceitfulness will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

One last comment. God loves EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL. It is the sin, that God hates.

  1. I love how the original text is written, if we are faithful and observant to God's law. That seems to be something that is missing in the church these days and altogether not being taught. You become dull to Gods standards and kind of create you own! I praise God that I am covered of my short comings, which is why I desire to please him by knowing what he desires from me found in his law...

  2. Yes. It's amazing how clear passages become, when you go back to the original text. You hit the nail on the head. God's plain Word is not being taught. Everyone has his own doctrine anymore. Unfortunately, they will live and die accordingly. Yes, Praise God! We are covered by the atoning Blood of the Lamb of God. We need to follow God's Law, not for atonement, but for relationship.

  3. Hi Keith, you said, "One last comment. God loves EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL. It's the sin, that God hates."

I don't think that ESAU would believe you (Romans 9:13), and neither do I.

Imagine, God is throwing ALL those He loves into hell.
What kind of a god is that ?

I'm sure you would do better than that, you surely wouldn't throw your children whom you love into hell fire and brimstone.

  4. Hi Paul, Parents punish and discipline their children. Just because you feel it's unrighteous to throw a loved one into Hell, doesn't give you the right to judge God and his ways. If the children were righteous and just, in the same way their father is, they wouldn't have anything to worry about.

  5. Hi Keith,
yes Jesus came to reconcile us back to God, and we have to learn God's ways as we are taught daily through acting on the Word spoken to us.

    Hebrews ch. 10 vs. 26 - 27 reads:-
'For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries'.
We were first born of the flesh, and through Jesus (the doorway to the Father) we have to be born of the Spirit.

  6. Hey Brenda, I find the following verse 28 very interesting and is ignored by most Christians. It says:

"Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses."

The Blood of Y'shua/Jesus covers our sins, but it is observance and obedience to the law, that draws us into a close relationship with God.

What honestly should bother many Christians is that adherence to the heathen rituals preclude you from the kingdom. 1Cor 6:9. Does that include Christmas or Easter, since they are based in heathen ritualism?

  7. Hi Keith,
yes there is much that speaks to us in the whole of Hebrews ch. 10. If we follow on to verse 29 we read:-

'How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?'

This compares the keeping of the law of Moses to the new covenant of Grace through Christ Jesus.

Jesus came to fulfil the law.
Romans ch. 3 vs. 21 - 23 speaks much about the fact that righteousness can only come through faith in Jesus.

'But now, apart from the Law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, as attested by the Law and the Prophets. And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,…'

I believe the only way we can be obedient to God is through belief in Jesus - which does not mean simply believing that He existed. It means acting on the Word spoken to us as we work out our salvation, maturing in the Spirit through that Word by the Holy Spirit.

I believe that the Easter and Christmas traditions are not scriptural, but I also believe that we can celebrate the birth and resurrection of Christ any day of the year. The main thing is that we learn God's ways through what is Written and revealed to us Spiritually.

  8. By the way Keith, I welcome your sharing of the true translations and believe you are one who is being used to increase knowledge. I know that the traditions of man make void the Word of God, and much of the 'church' today can be compared to the dry bones that have to have the Spirit of God in them to come to life.

  9. Hi Keith, it's not a question how I feel, but rather what God has said.
Remember, He said, 'it is written' !

Imagine, God loves His children SO much so that He lets fire and brimstone and all the plagues written in the book rain upon their heads.
Tell me, what kind of love is that ?
And then He tells them that He really paid for their sins on the cross.
Doesn't that stink right to heaven ?

I'm glad that my God the Lord Jesus Christ is NOT like that. He is much better than that other god who doesn't mean what he says.

My God did NOT COVER my sins, He REMOVED my sins and taken AWAY my sins, and atoned for my sins on the cross once and for all.
And it does NOT depend on whether I believe it or not, it depends on whether Jesus Christ died for me or NOT.
Whether He LOVED me or loved me NOT.

I'm sure that Esau did not know that.

  10. Hey Brenda, I totally agree that Y'shua/Jesus came to fulfil the atonement side of the Law. However, the obedience side of the Law continues. Even Y'shua said,

“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled”

    and

"If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him."

    and

"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome"

Don't you love quoting scripture? :-)

As for revealing the true scripture, I Praise God, that he has given me that gift. It is amazing that all apparent conflicts disappear, when you read the True Word of God. Thank You, Brenda!

  11. Hi Paul. It's called a just and righteous love. It from a just and righteous God. I know that it's hard for even some Christians to understand. Just because some people reject the Love of God, that doesn't mean he stops loving them. You can't mix together God Love and his righteous judgement.

As for removing sins, where, in the Word of God, does it say that God removes our sins. He forgives and removes the righteous payment that we owe, due to our sin, but no where does it say that he removes sin. We have talked about adding things to the Word of God before, Paul. You cannot do that.

The closest that you can get is Psalm 103:12 and Isaiah 43:25, where it says that he will distance himself from our transgressions to the point he remembers them no more. However, he never says that he will remove them, unless you are talking about when we get our new bodies.

  12. Hi Keith,
I believe that the commands we must keep are the words that Jesus speaks to us that are enlightened to us by the Holy Spirit as we work out our salvation.
Jesus was the Word of God made flesh, the last Adam, a life giving Spirit Who was the first of many brethren.
We are first born of the flesh and then have to be born of the Spirit. It is a process of mankind that was disobedient to God by questioning God's Word being reconciled back to God through learning God's ways and not just being hearers of that Word but being doers of that Word.
There is no way we could be doers of that Word without the Holy Spirit as our counsellor, comforter and teacher.

  13. We are in agreement, Brenda. Too many Christians fail to see the obedient side of our relationship. Unfortunately, there are far too many people that say we can do whatever we want, because we're under the blood. I'm have to admit that there are plenty of times when I stumble and fall. If it wasn't for the blood of Y'shua /Jesus, I would be long gone.

  14. Me too Keith,
as long as we confess and repent of what we do wrong, then our loving Father forgives us. Not that we should wilfully sin - that is different. We have a merciful God Who understands that we are flesh. However, the closer I come to Him and learn His ways, the more I find my old ways become offensive and undesirable.

  15. Hi Keith, do you believe that God is love ?
1 John 4:8 -16 says that God IS LOVE, and in 1 Corinthians 13:8 it says that love NEVER FAILS.
If you believe that love has failed, even ONCE. If just ONE person is in hell who was loved by your god, then your god is NOT love.
100% success rate that NEVER FAILS is by definition LOVE !

John 1:29, 'Behold the Lamb of God who TAKES AWAY the sins of the world !'
If sins would be covered, the could be uncovered.
If my sins would be covered, they would stink under any covering, but thanks be to Jesus for removing my sins from me.

  16. Yes, Paul, absolutely, I believe that God is Love! Therefore, by implication, God continually loves. To stop loving would go against his nature. To draw a correlation between God's love and people's refusal of that love is just wrong. I don't understand how you can say that people's refusal of God's is one of his shortcomings. God never fails. Finally, this is the reason why the Scriptures are intended to be taken literally as your anchor to reality. Plainly, you are mixing your metaphors.

  17. 'To draw a correlation between God's love and people's refusal of that love is just wrong.'
Keith, what you have said here is absolutely correct.
'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life'

There is a 'condition' in that love in order for us to have eternal life, the choice is ours.
Jesus Himself said. 'But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.'

He did not say 'I will love everyone whether they love me or not'
    What He did say was
'Jesus replied, 'If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him. Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words. The word that you hear is not My own, but it is from the Father who sent Me.' John ch. 14. vs. 23, 24.

  18. I agree Brenda. I don't know how anyone could read the Scriptures and come away with something as twisted as God forces you to love him or he has a conditional love or he has chosen a few to love him, while leaving others to flounder in hell. Once again, my sister, we are in total agreement. However, how can we not agree, since we actually read the Scriptures.
