Recently, within the Jewish and Messianic Jewish communities, we celebrated Simchat Torah. It occurs on the 22nd of Tishrei right after Sukkot. This year it was on October 20th.
Simchat Torah marks the completion of the annual Torah reading cycle. In Hebrew, it literally means "Rejoicing in the Law" . It's is a joyous holiday celebrating having completed the study of God's word and looking forward to hearing those words again during the coming year.
My question to you is... When is your Simchat Torah?
Do you joyously look forward to completing the reading and studying of G-ds Word and starting it over again? Your answer gives you a self evaluation of your position in the Messiah.

I am a Christian. I love to read the bible and I do not read it nearly enough. I am a slow reader. All is not lost though, I have a collection of audio readings of the KJV which I have been listening to for the last ten years, as well as reading the good book itself. Both methods are effective in installing Gods precious words within me. I find that the audio version works more on an unconscious level as I suppose the readings and sermons in church do also. I enjoyed reading your blog and feel it is important to encourage one another in our desire to reach others. I invite you to take a little look at mine and I would love you to join me too. ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you enjoy the Word of the Lord, which is Y'shua. It shows your position in the Lord.
Don't be ashamed of reading slowly. My wife laughs at me for taking days to get out of one chapter.
I use tapes all the time during my time in my car. G-d has inspired many people in all kinds of medium to get his Word out.
